As I weave my way through California’s Central Coast wine country, I feel obligated to leave you with something to read on a Sunday afternoon but I know you have no interest in the quality of this year’s zinfandel grapes. So I thought I’d take a moment to report on the status of some Patpong veterans—from where they cut their teeth to where they are now.
Best
Best is a redlight maven and a Patpong matron. She’s been a familiar figure for years, from the old Electric Blue to the new Virgin bar on Soi 2. She’s easy to spot, mostly by the brightness of her wide warm smile. For this old monger, she’s as much a part of Patpong as any landmark. Most will know her from her EB days when her ass was an absolute vision. Today, it’s a bit bigger and a tad squishier, but still noteworthy, even after all this time. A local monger might know her from EB, or Black Pagoda, or Pink Panther. A newbie might recognize her from Virgin. She’s made her mark all over Patpong in the last decade, earning the respect of the girls and making friends wherever she goes, which is saying something in a world where dancers can be catty, possessive, and jealous.
Nat
Best and Nat are BFFs. They didn’t start out together—Nat came from Glamour and Best was an EB girl—but now they’re virtually inseparable. The one exception was when Nat moved over to Twister Nana Plaza for the last half of 2023. Best tried out that gogo for a couple days and then retreated back t’Pong. Today they both divide their time between Virgin and Pink Panther, whichever seems to be busier at a particular time. Lately, I’ve only seen them together and off-duty, meaning they’re not on the pole. But they are in the gogo. It seems these two want to be in the bar, even when/if they’re not working. They show up in regular clothes, find a seat, and proceed to get their drink on. And if a money target like Seven walks in, they know they can hit me up for free cocktails. It’s a trap I always fall into.
Nat’s body used to rock in a way that made men weep. She was near-perfect, and when she bolted on a couple of fake tits, she looked like a comic book superhero onstage. But in the last few months, she’s gone from sixpack abs and a peach perfect bum to near-chunk status. Someone should intervene, and knock the cheeseburger out of her hand. It’s a shame and a waste for such a goddess to ruin herself with a poor diet.
That said, she’s still sexy as hell when she’s onstage, and any monger who isn’t as strict as I am about a no-fat body would find Nat to be a veritable roller coaster of bedroom fun. Speaking personally, I find that having her as a drinking buddy is kind of a perfect match.
Nuiy
Nuiy got her start in Glamour (now Virgin), where she ruled for years as one of the absolute hottest dancers in the joint. Her perfect body and beautiful face defied belief. She was too good to get with Seven, but polite enough to hang out for a drink in the gogo. Today, she’s definitively chunkier, though not by much. Just enough to no longer be smoking hot. Now she’s just average, and she’s taken a job as a hostess at the live music bar on Soi 1 between King’s II and King’s Corner. I don’t think she shorttimes, and these days must scrape and work for every ladydrink. The words “past her prime” could not be more accurate for poor Nuiy. Still, if you’re up for chilling in the live music bar and having a beer, she makes for good company.
Biw
Biw’s butt was hands down the best butt to ever grace a gogo stage. She worked exclusively for The Strip from 2014 to 2020, and made guys’ eyes pop out their heads with little effort. Off the pole, she was quite shy, and took nearly a year to warm up to Seven. Once she did, though, she rarely left me alone, preferring to sit with me and snap selfies with my phone when she wasn’t onstage.
In 2021, when the gogo had closed down, she briefly took the stage at Kiss Bar, but by then she’d squeezed out a kid and put on the Covid 5 (5 kilos from a year of no-dance/pig-out life). Her beautiful backside was gone, along with any sex appeal she might’ve had. Her stint at Kiss was brief. Since then, she’s steered clear of the pole.
Joy
Joy started out in Bada Bing, but quickly found a home at XXX Lounge. Over Covid, she got a back tattoo that extends down both ass cheeks and a pair of big fake tits. At a distance, she looks like a fierce maneater but in truth, she’s a sexy teddybear.
After bouncing back and forth between Nana and Patpong over the last year, she’s finally found a roost at Pink Panther. Joy lives up to her name. She’s an endlessly optimistic good-time girl, and very patient with old mongers who enjoy smacking an ass cheek or grabbing a handful of big fake titty (I speak from experience).
Sai
If I remember correctly, Sai began her redlight residence at Thigh Bar but quickly shifted to Kiss Bar (both are now permanently shut). Then she began following her friends Ann and Bpai (both have permanently left the pole) around to different locations like Glamour and XXX Lounge. Once her friends quit the life, she hooked up with hot duo Beer and Earn, but while those two keep turning up at Essence in NanaP, Sai kept feeling the pull back pongward, and can now be found clutching a pole at Pink Panther, palling around with Joy.
Tong
This year, Tong is 20 years old, so her tenure in the gogo thus far has been brief. She put in almost a full year at XXX Lounge before the cops closed it down in March of 2023. From there, she followed a small group of XXXers to what is now Essence in Nana Plaza, but stayed only a short time. Today, she’s one of those girls who sits in a plastic chair on Soi Thaniya, trying to coax Japanese tourists into one of those bars. She’s not quite as fit these days, since they don’t ask girls to dance in Thaniya bars, but she’s still hungry for the barfine. And crazily, the nipons don’t like her look, so she doesn’t get shorttimed much. It’s a shame, because she’s a veritable stick of sexual dynamite, as you can see from the photo.
Ya
As far as I know, Ya’s gogo experience began at XXX Lounge in 2019. Before then, she was a civilian. She endured the Covid years and all the shutdowns, and was still at XXX when the cops closed it for good in March of 2023. From there, she moved to Whiskey’N’Gogo in NanaP, and stayed when it changed to Essence. But she wasn’t happy with the change of ownership and so disappeared for a while. I was shocked to bump into her (literally) outside Shark Bar on Soi Cowboy where she wore a white dress and worked as a hostess—not a dancer—probably because her boyfriend doesn’t let her barfine.
