Because I’m stupid and can’t figure out how to create a page on my website where members can access all the new content for the month, I’ve posted links to all of July’s galleries below, plus a short blurb about each one.

During the years-long lockdown and tourist ban in Thailand, gogo bars were sporadically permitted to open for business, provided they followed a set of ridiculous asinine rules made up arbitrarily by govt stooges (just like every other country on the planet). The rules were: no dancing onstage, because dancing somehow spread Covid. After the first year, they rescinded that rule. Also, no sexy outfits, because sexy outfits somehow spread Covid. So the photos in this gallery show the lovely lasses of XXX in cocktail dresses. And while I prefer to see more skin, it wasn’t a bad change of pace, especially now that things are back to normal.

In the year after Covid, I went to XXX Lounge every night. I didn’t know at the time that the gogo would close forever just a few months later. It was just a stroke of luck that I OD’d on the place in that final year. I took so many photos that I had to separate them into four parts. This is Part 1. The recurring gals you’ll see in the photos are so common because 1—they were workhorses. They rarely if ever missed a night of work, 2—were the hottest, and I can’t help but aim my lens at the best-looking dancers, and 3—are my galpals. These are girls I keep touch with even now, as they’re scattered to the four corners of Bangkok.

If you were a regular at XXX Lounge, or only visited once, you know it was special. The managers, staff, and dancers were a concoction of awesomeness that may never be duplicated. At the time, in the moment, I didn’t fully appreciate it. To me, it was just the place where most of my friends worked, and I went there to hang out with them. I didn’t realize that that specific combination of personalities, body types, and laid-back attitudes was a magic potion of potency and promiscuity that fired a man’s loins like gasoline on a barbecue.

Where are they now? Earn, Pu, and Gif dance at Essence in Nana Plaza. Beer is one level above her in Tycoon. Ya graces the stage of Bun Bun 2. Nuchy and Pui dance part-time at Twister. Bpai has left the pole. She sells coconut shakes in Samut Sakhorn. Tong has also left the life. She’s at uni now, and works part time at a Lazada warehouse. Little Nan fell ill and is in hospital. The rest have dispersed to Pink Panther, Kinky Girls, and Essence. The license for the space that was once XXX Lounge has been frozen by the cops. No one may rent it or open a business there until March of 2025. When it becomes available again, one can only guess what will go in there. I know of a couple interested parties who want to put a new gogo there. Keep your fingers crossed, reader.
